  1. General information

It is generally possible to use our website without stating any personal information. Upon accessing individual pages, only access data (e.g. browser type and time of access) is transmitted to our servers. This access data contains no data of any personal nature whatsoever and cannot be traced back to any identifiable person. In particular, no user profiles are created by the access data. Such data serves merely for the purposes of statistical analysis and optimisation of the use of our website.

  2. Use of personal data

Personal data shall only be used if you disclose this data to us voluntarily. This is necessary if you book a hotel room or other related service or for receiving our newsletter.

Personal data shall only be collected for the use of the above-mentioned services to the extent that this is necessary for executing the contract or providing the service.

After the contract has been executed in full, the personal data disclosed by you shall be blocked and/or deleted for further use. Tax and/or commercial law provisions that, where appropriate, stipulate longer retention periods shall remain hereby unaffected.

  3. Forwarding of personal data

Personal data shall only be forwarded without explicit separate consent to the extent that this is necessary for executing the contract.

This is necessary if you disclose your credit card details to us voluntarily during the booking process either because you want a “guaranteed booking” or want to make use of special booking rates that require advance payment. In these cases, we shall forward your data to our payment service provider, 1&1 Internet AG (Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany). The latter shall check your credit card details and store them in accordance with its own data privacy regulations, which can be viewed at www.1und1.de/Datenschutz

Additionally, in case of forwarding reservation documents to third parties via post, this may include personal data (name & address).

Personal data shall not be forwarded to any other extent to third parties unless we are obligated to do so due to a court decision or by law.

  4. Newsletter

You can opt to register for our newsletter on the website. You must provide personal data (name and e-mail address) in order to receive the newsletter. The newsletter will not be sent to you without your express consent. For this purpose, you will receive a confirmation e-mail after registration containing a link which must be opened in order to complete registration for our newsletter. You may unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time by e-mail or by means of an “unsubscribe” link in the newsletter itself.

  6. Google Analytics

In order to be able to tailor our website towards your interests as ideally as possible, we use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”, text files, which are stored on your computer and enable an analysis of how you use the site. The information collected by the cookie on your use of this website is transmitted to a Google server in the US and stored there. Google will use this information to analyse how you use the website, to compile reports on site activities for the website operators and to provide further services connected with the use of the site and the Internet. Google shall also forward this information to third parties if necessary, insofar as this is legally stipulated or insofar as third parties process this data on behalf of Google. On no account will Google link your IP address with other Google data. You can prevent the installation of cookies on your computer by adjusting your browser accordingly, however we must point out that, in this case, not all functions of this website may be available to you in their full capacity. By using this website, you thereby consent to the processing of the data recorded by Google on your person in the manner described above and for the purpose specified above.

If you do not want Google to receive data from your browser when you access the website, you can find the link to opt out of Google Analytics here (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de). This plug-in prevents your browser from requesting the analytics code so that Google receives no data whatsoever when you access the website. The plug-in is available for various types of browser. According to Google, the browser blocks the Google Analytics script after installation. However, this website always uses Google Analytics with the extension “_anonymizeIp()” so that IP addresses are only processed further in abbreviated form to prevent them being directly linked to a particular individual. In this respect it is ensured that no detailed IP address data is transmitted upon accessing the website.

  7. Hotjar

We use Hotjar in order to better understand our users’ needs and to optimize this service and experience. Hotjar is a technology service that helps us better understand our users experience (e.g. how much time they spend on which pages, which links they choose to click, what users do and don’t like, etc.) and this enables us to build and maintain our service with user feedback. Hotjar uses cookies and other technologies to collect data on our users’ behavior and their devices (in particular device's IP address (captured and stored only in anonymized form), device screen size, device type (unique device identifiers), browser information, geographic location (country only), preferred language used to display our website). 8. Cookies

In order to be able to make your visit to our website more attractive and to enable the use of certain functions, so-called “cookies” are used on our website. These are small text files that are stored on your computer. After a browser session has ended, most of the cookies used are deleted from your hard disk (“session cookies”). The so-called “permanent cookies” remain on your computer, however, and thus enable us to recognise you again upon your next visit.

You can use the appropriate browser settings to prevent cookies from being stored on your computer, whereby, however, this may restrict the range of functions of our website.

  9. Social networks

    1. Facebook

Our website also contains programmes (plug-ins) from the social network Facebook. These are operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (Facebook) only. The plug-ins can be recognised by the Facebook logo or the “like” button on our website. Upon visiting a page of our website containing one of these plug-ins, a direct connection is established between your browser and the Facebook servers, whereby, in turn, the content of the plug-in is transmitted to your browser and integrated by it into the displayed website. In this way, the information that you have visited our website is passed on to Facebook. If you are logged into Facebook under your personal user account during your visit to our website, Facebook can allocate the visit to the website to this account. If you want to prevent this data from being transmitted, you must log out of your Facebook account before visiting our website.

More information on the purpose and extent of data collection by Facebook as well as the further processing and use of the data by Facebook, your rights with regard to the above and settings to protect your privacy can be found in Facebook’s privacy policy (https://de-de.facebook.com/privacy/explanation.php).

When surfing the pages of our website that contain a Google+ button, a direct connection is established between your browser and the Google servers and the button is loaded there. In the process, the information that our website has been accessed is transmitted to Google Inc. whereby the content of the “+1” button is transmitted directly to your browser by Google and integrated by it into the website.

Therefore, we have no influence on the scope of the data collected by Google using this button. According to Google, if you do not click on the button, no personal data is collected. Only the data, including the IP address, of those users who are logged into the social network Google+ is collected and processed. If you are a Google+ user and do not want Google to collect data on your person via our website, you must log out of Google+ before visiting our website.

At no time do we discover if and when you have used the Google+ button, but receive from Google only aggregated, non-personally identifiable statistical information on how the Google+ button is used. Precisely which data is collected by Google for its own purposes as well as information on how the data is further processed and used can be found in Google’s privacy policy at www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/.

In the process, the information that our website has been accessed is transmitted to Twitter. Even if you are not logged in, Twitter can then, where appropriate, still collect and store the usage data.

If you click on the Twitter buttons on the pages of our website and “twitter” information on the Twitter window that is then opened, you are thereby transmitting the twittered information to Twitter. This information is then displayed in your Twitter user profile.
