One of the most visited museums in Germany is the Überseemuseum Bremen , close to the main train station in Bremen. At least that’s what the museum itself claims. It’s only a five minute walk away from prizeotel Bremen-City. So the museum is very close by.
As well as interesting special exhibitions, the Überseemuseum Bremen is known for its exquisite education it offers, especially for school classes. Either way, it’s well worth taking a look at the 100-year-old building: in the programme there are permanent exhibitions from Asia, America and Africa to admire.
The Überseemuseum Bremen has been a listed building since 1933. It was originally named “Urban Collections for Natural History and Ethnography” in 1875. In the Second World War, the building was badly damaged and some exhibits suffered bomb attacks.
